The shows founder and presenter Colin has a passion for rock & metal music. Growing up around music and playing drums in bands since 98, Colin's Crypt is the next chapter in his musical journey.

Colin's Crypt - The Saturday Metal Mass started its birth and evolution at the end of 2021 when presenter Colin Redpath wanted to launch a radio show for Rock and Metal lovers that was dedicated to Rock & Metal. A lot of radio stations in the UK only broadcast a Classic Rock Show and or just a plain Rock Show that doesn't capture the true essence of Rock & Metal, thus the Saturday Metal Mass was born.

The show has been on a journey of evolution as the first incarnation of the show was called The Nu-Rock show, the Pilot show that aired in July 2022 and was named this until the show then went on to be called Colin Crypt - The Sunday Metal Mass in its second incarnation in October the same year. By the end of October, on Saturday 29th October the show went through its third incarnation, and with the Halloween Special Colin's Crypt - The Saturday Metal Mass was born.

The show moved to a new regular time of 8 pm - 10 pm every Saturday on Bedford Radio.
